Founded in 1984 by Robert Aibel and currently directed with Joshua Aibel, Moderne Gallery is an internationally recognized gallery for twentieth century decorative arts – with a primary specialization in work from the American Craft and Studio Movement from 1925–1990. This includes a large collection of work by Wharton Esherick, George Nakashima, Sam Maloof, Arthur Espenet Carpenter, Wendell Castle, David Ebner, Peter Voulkos, Paul Soldner, Edward Moulthrop, James Prestini and most of the major figures of the movement.
